DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Detroit Region wil sanction the Twilight Tour as a late afternoon thru evening SCCA RoadRally event conducted in compliance with the SCCA Tour RoadRally Rules. SUMMARY:TX: Tick Tock RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:You’re invited to the Tick Tock Rally\, an SCCA Regional Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) tour rally over paved backroads of Denton and Cooke counties. A precision driving event at fun speeds to (re)introduce TSD rallying to the Texas Region. This will be a Monte Carlo-style rally. Course following is easy with mileage on every instruction and a sign reference\, if there is one.  We score you on how close to the perfect time you arrive at checkpoint locations along the route.  No calculations involved.  We tell you where every control is and the perfect time to arrive there.  All you have to do is arrive at that time.  Get one point for each second early or late; a low score wins. \n\n\n\nIt is not a speed or racing contest. You will be timed at the checkpoints by means of the Richta GPS smart phone app.  Scores are automatically reported to the Rallymaster.  No score sheet to fill out. We will send you information on it after you pre-register. Also\, we plan to conduct a Rally School via Zoom (currently scheduled for April 25th) to help prepare for the rally. It’ll include a short test rally that you can run to see how the app works before rally day. We encourage you to attend the School. \n\n\n\nThe rally will begin and end at HL Brockett Elementary School\, with Registration beginning at 1030A. The first car leaves out at 12P + your car number. The route\, laid out by Rallymaster Liz Witt\,  is approximately 87 miles\, with two rest breaks along the course where you can get fast food as well.   \n\n\n\nRegistration will be on Hagerty Motorsportreg.com\, with the entry fee of $25 for SCCA Members and $35 for Weekend Members. Three classes: First-timer (neither crew member has run a rally before)\, Novice (two rally trophies or less)\, General\, and Master (this is an optional class: no trophies).  \n\n\n\nIn light of the current COVID-19 situation\, every attempt will be made to minimize the risks of exposure to the virus. New processes and procedures have been developed and will be put into place to support this objective. You should not have to get out of your car.  All of the registration materials and rally materials needed for the event will be available online or sent to you via email\, and can be completed and returned ahead of the event or\, if applicable\, you can print them and bring them with you. In some cases (e.g.\, Minor Waivers that have not been notarized) we will witness you signing the completed form. We will also send you the General Instructions and Route Instructions to print out at home. \n\n\n\nUltimately\, it is your responsibility to assess the risk to you\, comply with applicable COVID-19 guidelines and make the decision on whether or not to participate.

SUMMARY:IN: Monte ReDeux RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Indianapolis Region heads out on the Monte ReDeux Road Rally\, on Saturday\, May 1st.  \n\n\n\nThe Monte ReDeux is a time-speed-distance rally designed specifically for beginners but fun for non-beginners as well. This is a Monte Carlo Tour-style rally that uses the Richta App for timing. At each restart point\, you will be given the mileage from the restart point to the subsequent checkpoint\, and the exact time in minutes and seconds that you should take to get there.  At each restart point\, you will re-zero your trip odometer and leave at the beginning of the next minute\, as observed on the Richta App. After you leave the restart point\, the App will tell you what minute you started on. Simply add the leg time given in your route instructions to that restart time\, and you will know the exact time you need to arrive at the next control. It is quite possible for Novices to score very near zero on controls. SUMMARY:WI: Badger Burrow Regional Tour RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Join your fellow car enthusiasts for the Badger Burrow Regional Tour RoadRally\, a five-hour\, 120 mile time-speed-distance road rally\, sanctioned by the SCCA Milwaukee Region. You and a partner (Driver and Navigator) will be issued a set of Route Instructions that will take you on a scenic journey through the marvelous country roads in the Driftless area southwest of Madison\, Wisconsin. This is a ‘Tour’ type rally and there are no traps or tricks – just drive\, enjoy the great roads and marvelous scenery and try to arrive at each checkpoint at precisely the right time. Checkpoints will be set up along the way to monitor how well you are following the assigned average speeds. Awards will be presented to the teams who do the best job of arriving at the checkpoints at the proper times. This is a rally designed especially for people with little or no rally experience. \n\n\n\nRegistration closes Friday\, May 7th\, at 5PM\, so don’t delay in getting your team registered! There will be no onsite registration. Cost is $40 per car\, with a minimum of two people per car\, yet you may have up to four people in your vehicle. \n\n\n\nIMPORTANT:  The Badger Burrow uses automatic scoring and GPS checkpoints. You will be timed automatically as your vehicle passes the checkpoint location and your score will be immediately displayed.  Contestants need to use a smartphone during the rally\, running the Richta Competitor App. Please download the app from the Google Playstore (Android) or the Apple App Store.  Please read the Appendix of the General Instructions for further details.

SUMMARY:WI: Chippewa Trail National Tour RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The Land of Lakes Chippewa Trail is an SCCA National Tour RoadRally counting towards the SCCA National RoadRally Championship. It starts and ends in Menomonie\, WI\, on Saturday\, May 15th. Menomonie is a small college town (UW Stout) with a variety of things to do and interesting restaurants and breweries. \n\n\n\nHeadquarters is the AmericInn in Menomone located at the junction of Interstate 94 and WIS 25. We have no rate at this time but last I checked it was $98/night the weekend of May 15. \n\n\n\nThere is a Fleet Farm across the road as well as a car wash and Gas Station/Convenience store.  \n\n\n\nRoads: Only paved roads are used.  \n\n\n\nLength: about 200 miles. Should take a little less than 8 hours to run. \n\n\n\nThe rally follows the international regularity rally format. Speed shall have no impact whatsoever on the classification. Regularity Tests (RTs) shall be set up where participants have to follow the established average speed and stay close to the ideal time throughout the route. Time penalties shall be handed down as points. The winner shall be the competitor with the fewest points at the end of the rally. The details of the itinerary and the various controls shall be set out in the time card. \n\n\n\nAll registration material will be either online or sent to you via SIGNAL so you can fill it out before arrival. The exception is the SCCA Waiver which we must witness. If you want timely updates and all printed material the weekend before the event you MUST set up and join the group when you register. We are offering a unique Social Rally\, just for fun. It is not part of any series or serious points race. \n\n\n\nWhere: Starts and ends at Tom Wahl’s on Route 5&20 in Avon \n\n\n\nWhen: Sunday\, 5/16/21.  Check In: 12:30-1:30pm\, First car off at 2:01 (more on timing below) \n\n\n\nHow much: The entry fee is $20/car plus $5 for each weekend membership. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Avon Food Pantry to help the local community. \n\n\n\nEvent Day Details:  \n\n\n\nThis is a ‘minimal contact’ event. Click here to register online through Hagerty MotorsportReg or email the info to the Rallymaster if you want to enter. There is a limit of 45 cars.The rally is:You follow the course\, maintaining speeds below the posted speed limit.As you follow the route\, you will be timed at locations unknown to you. All checkpoints will be closed (you do not stop at them.)The course is approximately 31 miles and should take about 56 minutes to complete.Teams then repeat the course route at 3:00+car #.For the second time around the route\, checkpoint signs will be out where the cars are timed again. The score will be how close the minute and hundredths are to the time you passed on the first loop (if you did it the first time\, you should be able to do it a second time\, right?)If you take a TA on the second passage\, text it to the phone number on the routes with a mileage where it occurred. Once a TA is taken\, the TA time applies for the rest of the second loop.Cars will have window chalk or magnetic number on each side of the car so the checkpoint worker can identify the car as it passes.The entry fee is $20/car plus $5 for each weekend membership. The proceeds from the event will be donated to the Avon Food Pantry to help the local community.A waiver will be placed on a picnic table behind and outside Tom Wahl’s. Rallymaster Dan Harkcom will take you on roughly 200 miles of rallying over the back roads between West Branch and Houghton Lake – and there are many tasty roads to traverse in that area! Registration is open – click here to head over to MotorsportReg for additional event specifics and to register. \n\n\n\nSince most of Michigan’s most interesting and least-traveled rally roads are unpaved\, expect to run on Saturday and wash on Sunday. All of the roads used will be traversable at rally speeds in the average family car. Depending on weather conditions\, you can expect a combination of dust\, mud\, or washboard\, so prepare accordingly. \n\n\n\nMoonlight Monte will be an early afternoon through evening SCCA RoadRally event. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads north of Madison\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS checkpoint app. Contestants will download the app to their smartphones in advance of the rally. During the rally\, this app will use the GPS signals and automatically record your arrival time at each checkpoint and then display your score to you!! No more waiting until the rally is over to find out how you did. A bonus feature of this Richta GPS checkpoint system is that we can provide you with many more checkpoints and more challenging checkpoint locations. Expect at least 100 checkpoints in this 180-mile rally. Contestants will need a smartphone to run this event. If you’re planning to run another rally app during the event\, you’ll need to do that on a separate device. The Richta GPS checkpoint app needs to be the only app running on your phone during the rally; you can download the app from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. \n\n\n\nThis is a tour-type rally\, so there are no tricks or traps. The July 17th road rally begins at Milwaukie Lowe’s. \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $20 per car for CSCC members (either Driver or Navigator is a CSCC member)$30 per car for non-members   \n\n\n\nSchedule: July 17thFirst car out: 10:01 am First car arrives at the finish (approx.): 1:30 pm Results emailed: after all cars finish  Entry requires a street-legal vehicle\, a licensed and insured driver\, a navigator\, and a smart device (e.g.\, cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. \n\n\n\nDay-of-event on-site registration will not be available. Due to the continuing pandemic\, the Saturday Series Rally will be Cascade’s tenth TSsD (Time Speed social Distance) road rally conducted in compliance with the Cascade Geargrinders Coronavirus Message. \n\n\n\nAfter completing online registration by the deadline of midnight\, July 14th\, you will receive an email providing further instructions\, including your car number assignment\, instructions for registering your car number in the Competitor Richta app\, and a link to e-sign the required event insurance waiver. Once you’ve completed these check-in steps\, we’ll email the route instructions on Friday. You’ll need to print them. DESCRIPTION:The 2021 United States Road Rally Challenge\, sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America over the July 30 – August 1st weekend\, will consist of one National Course Rally followed by two National Tour Rallies. All events will follow the 2021 RRR’s for Championship rallies. At this time it’s hard to say anything about the gatherings before and after the rally. There are no known COVID rules at the Hotel or other gathering points. \n\n\n\nThe weekend kicks off with a reception on Thursday evening at the host hotel. Clarence Westberg will be the Rallymaster for the Sparta Trails National Tour on Saturday\, and Mike Thompson will be the Rallymaster for the Sturculinus Creek National Course on Friday and the Badger Bash National Tour on Sunday. Three National Rallies in three days! \n\n\n\nAll rallies will begin at the Best Western Plus Sparta Trail Lodge (608-269-2664). The block on rooms expires on June 30. SUMMARY:CA: San Diego Region Coast to Coast Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Coast to Coast Road Rally\, by Rallymaster Ric Senior\, will be run Saturday\, August 21st\, 2021\, departing in the morning and finishing before noon. A novice/beginner meeting will be shared before the event. The drivers’ meeting will be held online Friday night before the event at 6:00 PM via Zoom. The Coast to Coast Road Rally is expected to cover about 60 miles\, mostly on fun-to-drive country roads following legal limits. The rally will take approximately 2.5 hours. \n\n\n\nWe’ll start at La Costa Avenue Park & Ride before heading to the coast\, then into the twisty back roads of San Diego County and finishing in Solano Beach. The entry fee is $25 per car. The Driver must be an SCCA Member. Note that weekend memberships are available during registration for $15 (and these can be used as credit towards a full membership). \n\n\n\nYou will need paper and a pencil/pen\, a watch or clock with a second hand; a stopwatch and a clipboard will be helpful. A valid driver’s license and proof of current liability insurance are required. Your vehicle must meet basic safety standards (e.g.\, lights\, brakes\, windshield wipers\, and horn must work). \n\n\n\nThe object of a navigational rally is to follow the rally course at the assigned (legal) speeds and arrive at each checkpoint on time\, not early\, not late. Your score on each leg of the rally is based on how early or late you arrive at each checkpoint.

SUMMARY:WI: Milwaukee Region Mini Monte Regional Tour
DESCRIPTION:Milwaukee Region SCCA will be presenting a Monte Carlo-style Rallye on August 21\, 2021. The Rallye will be about 5 hours in length and will explore the back roads\, mostly in Sheboygan County. We will be visiting the northern sections of the Kettle Moraine Forest and passing Road America\, and driving a portion of the old Elkhart Lake Street Race Course. As usual\, roads are twisty\, speeds brisk\, and the scenery spectacular. \n\n\n\nA Monte Carlo-style Rallye is a bit different and will present new challenges. Instead of assigning an average speed (CAST)\, you will be given the exact mileage and a Car Zero Time for each control. The contestant needs to determine how fast to drive to arrive exactly on time. As usual\, points are assessed for each second you are early or late at each control. You can also expect to find some controls that are very closely spaced. \n\n\n\nYou can look over the General Instructions and register at http://msreg.com/MonteRallye21. DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Series has a long history with the Santa Monica Sports Car Club\, a Chapter of the SCCA California Sports Car Club.  \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 7 PM\, with a Beginner/Richta App meeting at 740 PM. The first car is out at 801 PM. The entry is $25\, with a $10 discount if either the Driver or Navigator is an SCCA Member. Should you run the FFNs regularly\, this becomes an excellent reason to join the SCCA and other discounts available from National. \n\n\n\nWe are still practicing COVID-19 restrictions – primarily wearing masks and social distancing. We continue to use the Richta Competitor GPS app for checkpoints\, so no manned checkpoints or control cards to pass in and out of the car; there’s a new version\, 1.20\, that should automatically update on your phone when you log in. Each checkpoint sign will be clearly shown in the instructions\, so no guesswork will be needed.

SUMMARY:IN: Indianapolis Region Hoosier Byways: The Bridges of Putnam County
DESCRIPTION:The Bridges of Putnam County is a Divisional Tour Rally that is part of the SCCA Great Lakes Divisional Championship. It is a challenging Tour rally using GPS checkpoints. The route includes many well-groomed\, yet curvy\, gravel roads and crosses several covered bridges in Putnam County. Although designed to be challenging for Divisional competitors\, the rally can be run by anyone who would like a full afternoon of road rallying with some spectacular scenery. The route is well defined and the challenge is to stay on time. \n\n\n\nThe route includes a tire warm-up followed by a 12+ miles odometer check that contains paved and gravel roads. There is no headquarter hotel for this event. Should you would like overnight accommodations\, the rally committee suggests using a hotel near State Rd. 267 and I-70 (exit 66). DESCRIPTION:Cascade Passes Tour\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nNor’Wester Rally is a Time-Speed-Distance (TSD) perfect time\, touring rally. Entrants are given route instructions containing specific\, clear directions to follow\, with speeds at or below the legal limit in all cases. Cars are assigned a specific time to start each section in the route instructions\, at one-minute intervals.  \n\n\n\nNOTE: We\, at RReNews\, are awaiting details on Registration and starting location from the organizers. To field the event on our calendar\, the address for starting is simply the Chamber for Kirkland. We will amend when information is provided! \n\n\n\nNor’Wester is a ‘closed checkpoint’ format\, where the cars do not stop at checkpoints\, but rather the checkpoints are sometimes hidden\, with timing to a specific landmark. This kind of rally is ‘On Time\, All the Time’. Penalty points are issued for passing a checkpoint early or late. Speeding is a sure way to lose the rally\, as early points are just as bad as late points. The goal is to pass all checkpoints exactly at the correct second\, netting zero points. The car with the least number of points wins.  \n\n\n\nThis event is a pure course-following rally; there are no tricks or traps. Precision timing is the main criterion. Traveling remote areas with spectacular scenery is a bonus.

SUMMARY:CA: First Friday Niter Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The First Friday Niter Series has a long history with the Santa Monica Sports Car Club\, a Chapter of the SCCA California Sports Car Club.  \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 7 PM\, with a Beginner/Richta App meeting at 740 PM. The first car is out at 801 PM. The entry is $25\, with a $10 discount if either the Driver or Navigator is an SCCA Member. Should you run the FFNs regularly\, this becomes an excellent reason to join the SCCA and other discounts available from National. \n\n\n\nWe are still practicing COVID-19 restrictions – primarily wearing masks and social distancing. We continue to use the Richta Competitor GPS app for checkpoints\, so no manned checkpoints or control cards to pass in and out of the car; there’s a new version\, 1.20\, that should automatically update on your phone when you log in. Each checkpoint sign will be clearly shown in the instructions\, so no guesswork will be needed.
