SUMMARY:WI: Oktoberally National Course Rally
DESCRIPTION:This SCCA Milwaukee Region Oktoberally National Course Rally will test your ability to observe\, reason\, maintain the assigned average speeds\, and follow explicit directions. Rallymaster Mike Thompson will use Numbered and Lettered Route Instructions and a variable Main Road Rule. Experienced rallyists will find this a challenging rally over scenic roads. \n\n\n\nOn Friday evening\, September 20th\, there will be a Hospitality Room and check-in for the rally weekend between 5-8 PM. \n\n\n\nEntry fees are $105 per car\, with a required Driver and Navigator per car; SCCA members receive a $15 discount. The National Classes of Equipped\, Limited\, Stock\, and GPS are offered. Pre-registration is required for this event via Motorsportreg.com\, and all registered contestants will receive the Generals ± two weeks before the event. \n\n\n\nThis National Course Rally is held on Saturday\, September 21st\, the Badger Coulees National Tour Rally will take place on Sunday\, September 22nd. DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Southern Indiana Region presents their next summer Road Rally on Sunday\, June 23rd\, and will incorporate “Straight as Possible” as the only Main Road Rule. \n\n\n\nRally #3\, the Hill and Dale Road Rally will start at Penn Station Sub Shop in Evansville\, IN\, before heading out to explore some of the best paved roads in both Warrick and Spencer counties. It will incorporate federal highways\, state highways\, county roads\, and streets in small towns as well!  \n\n\n\nIt is just short of 100 miles long and will take roughly 3 hours to complete\, with the included breaks. The Rally Masters are Harold and Karen Davis\, and the rally will use the Competitor – Richta GPS Checkpoints app.  \n\n\n\nWe hope to see you there!  And remember\, online registration through MotorsportReg only\, no walk-ups. SUMMARY:CA: Cal Club First Friday Niter Social Roadrally
DESCRIPTION:It’s May\, so it’s finally time to run the postponed February FFN! The rally will run primarily in and around the Rye Canyon industrial park in Santa Clarita (near Magic Mountain). Jeanne English is the Rallymaster\, and she likes traps\, so there will be some. They are all based upon WOF (whichever occurs first) instructions. That means there are no onto\, FLR\, spelling\, or any other kind of trap except for the WOF instructions. There will even be a special help page for beginners\, which Larry Scholnick will explain at the Beginner’s Meeting. Jeanne suggests reading the definition of WOF in the SMSCC general instructions. \n\n\n\nThe rally finishes at Toppers Pizza Place\, 23710 Valencia Blvd\, Santa Clarita\, 661-222-7888 (at the corner of Valencia and Magic Mtn). \n\n\n\nThis rally uses the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. This month’s maximum penalty is 60 seconds (1 minute) per leg. The app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store\, Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Play the game that takes you places. Season Flyer \n\n\n\nThe next event in the Cascade Geargrinders 2024 Saturday Road Rally Series is on April 20. The April rally is the second of six in the Series. SUMMARY:PA: USRRC 50th Anniversary Little Appalachian Rally
DESCRIPTION:Clyde Heckler\, Rallymaster\, is celebrating an anniversary during the 2023 United States Road Rally Challenge (USRRC) on Friday\, October 20th. This year’s Little Appalachian National Course Rally is the 50th Anniversary year of his first rally for the SCCA Philadelphia Region in 1973. It is also the first National Championship rally sanctioned by the Philadelphia Region since the 1983 Appalachian Road Rally\, 40 years ago! \n\n\n\nThe 50th Little Appalachian will be a throwback event\, as it is a course rally of moderate difficulty and will use the Abridged RoadRally Rules. It uses a fixed priority list\, including the principal road rule. There are no main road determinants\, yet we’ll use the onto rule and letter instructions. The route will be in Chester County\, known for its horse farms\, and Lancaster County\, an Amish area. \n\n\n\nAt the rally’s conclusion\, the contestants will head down to New Jersey for the final two rallies of the USRRC – The Jersey Devil National Tour and Up the Creek National Course Rally by Rallymaster Jim Wakemen. \n\n\n\nThis rally will use the Richta GPS Competitor App and the SCCA Abridged RoadRally Rules. \n\n\n\nHere are some images from the early years of the Appalachian National Rally: 1960 Rally Regulations and the 1958 rally plate.

SUMMARY:CA: Golden West 2023 Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA San Francisco Region is returning to the SCCA National Course RoadRally Championship with its Golden West 2023 Road Rally on August 26th and Gold Rush National Tour Rally on Sunday\, August 27th. The Entry Fee for SCCA Members is $90 for each rally or $170 for the weekend. An SCCA Weekend Membership is available for an additional $15\, as may be needed by a team. All registrations will be handled through MotorsportsReg. General Instructions will be emailed on August 19th\, and all entries must be received by August 21st. \n\n\n\nAs of April 20th\, the tentative schedule: \n\n\n\nRegistration at Headquarters: Friday\, August 25th\, 5:00-7:30 PM \n\n\n\nSaturday Schedule is for Car #1 to receive the Route Instructions at 8:01 AM with an 8:30 AM departure. Teams will gather at Skipolini’s Pizza\, Folsom\, CA\, ±4:45 PM. \n\n\n\nThe Golden West 2023 National Course Rally will be a scenic 190-mile rally through the foothills and Mother Lode Mining Areas southeast of Sacramento. It will be a challenging event designed for experienced rallyists familiar with SCCA RoadRally Rules and will use both Lettered and Numbered instructions and changing MRDs (Main Road Determinants). Yet the course is also easy to follow for a Novice teams with all paved roads and no special equipment or math skills required.  \n\n\n\nRallymaster Andy Stocker encourages rallyists to compete in the two National Championship RoadRally events by Cal Club Region and the Santa Monica Sports Car Club the prior weekend\, August 19th and 20th\, and then spend several days heading north along the amazing California coastline. Visit places like the Getty Museum\, Santa Barbara\, Hearst’s Castle\, Big Sur\, Carmel\, Monterey Bay Aquarium\, Santa Cruz\, Bodega Bay\, Napa Valley Wineries\, and more! DESCRIPTION:Highway Robbery\, an SCCA National RoadRally Course Championship Rally\, will run on Saturday\, August 19th. It’s a course rally that will test your ability to stay on course and on time. The rally will run primarily in San Bernardino County. There will be no absence of the sign traps and no lettered instructions. There will be ITIS (If There Is Such) instructions and a sign Aristotle (as per SMSCC Generals). There will be variable main road determinants\, but no more than four at any time (often only two). In fact\, you can run Highway Robbery using the SMSCC General Instructions with a short addendum instead of the RRRs if you want to. These are mostly the same generals we used on previous Highway Robberies. Jeanne English\, Rallymaster\, expects most contestants to do most legs correctly.

SUMMARY:NY: Do It Again RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Finger Lakes Region invites you to join them for a little Spring Rally fun\, with its Do It Again RoadRally. It is a Social Rally and not apart of any series or serious points race. \n\n\n\nHere are the details: \n\n\n\n\nYou follow the course\, maintaining speeds below the posted speed limit.\n\n\n\nAs you follow the route\, you will be timed at locations unknown to you. All checkpoints will be closed (you do not stop at them.)\n\n\n\nThe course is approximately 31 miles and should take about 56 minutes to complete.\n\n\n\nTeams then repeat the course route at 2:00+car #.\n\n\n\nFor the second time around the route\, checkpoint signs will be out where the cars are timed again. The score will be how close the minute and hundredths is to the time you passed on the first loop (if you did it the first time\, you should be able to do it a second time\, right?)\n\n\n\nIf you take a TA on the second passage\, text it to the phone number on the routes with a mileage where it occurred. Once a TA is taken\, the TA time applies for the rest of the second loop.\n\n\n\nCars will have a window chalk or magnetic number on each side of the car so the checkpoint worker can identify the car as it passes.\n\n\n\nRoutes would be handed out to the teams at Registration\, at the event.\n\n\n\nThere will be a brief Driver’s meeting at 12:45\, before the event.\n\n\n\nThe results will be calculated after the event and also emailed to all competitors in case you have to leave.\,\n\n\n\nWe will do results at the finish as quickly as we can so we can share rally stories and enjoy some after event camaraderie.\n\n\n\n\nClasses:    Experienced (if any team member has done more than 5 rallies)    Novice (new to rally where neither team member has done more than 5 rallies) \n\n\n\nRegistration is online with MotorsportReg and you can click here for more information\, too. SUMMARY:PA: Steel Haul Course Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:A sure sign of Spring is the Steel Haul Course and Tour Rallies sanctioned by the SCCA Steel Cities and Blue Ridge Mountain Sports Car Club; this year\, they take place over April 29-30th. Registration will occur Friday evening\, April 28th\, 6-9:00 PM\, in the Holiday Inn breakfast area. \n\n\n\nChuck Larouere will serve as Rallymaster for the Steel Haul Course Rally\, and Carl Staab will Rallymaster the Steel Haul Tour Rally. The rallies are eligible for the National Championships. \n\n\n\nThe Richta GPS Competitor will be used for scoring\, and all teams must have the App loaded on their smart device (phone or tablet) before Registration. \n\n\n\nRegistration is via paper\, and forms with payment shall be mailed to Registrar Rick Beattie\, 352 Woodside Road\, Pittsburgh\, PA 15221. SUMMARY:CA: SCCA Cal Club First Friday Niter Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Cal Club\, Santa Monica Sports Car Club Chapter\, continues their tradition of its First Friday Niter Series and begins the new year with Rallymaster Larry Scholnick. He describes his rally as “a trip around the rim of the Valley\, the San Fernando Valley.” It really does travel from place to place.  There are some traps on this rally\, but no more than one per leg (and not all legs have traps).  Trap values average about 30 seconds. FYI\, my favorite instruction on the rally is this one:  STRAIGHT(ish) at STOP. \n\n\n\nWe will be using the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing in seconds. The max penalty this month is 120 seconds (2 minutes) per leg. All checkpoints are listed in the route instructions with a Restart after each checkpoint. This app is FREE and easy to use on any GPS-enabled smartphone. Go to the App Store or Google Play Store\, or https://richtarally.com/. There is no need for additional timing equipment or clocks – your Official Time shows in the app!   \n\n\n\nAlso\, if you want to see all the scores at the Finish\, download the free Richta Scoreboard app.  Finish will be at IHOP\, 5031 Kanan Road\, Agoura Hills (at the Kanan offramp of the 101). \n\n\n\nPlease register online at MotorSportReg. This helps us plan for number of instructions to print\, trophies\, and all that good stuff. If that doesn’t work for you\, in-person registration opens at 7:00 pm\, with the first car out at 8:01 pm; there is a beginner/Richta meeting at 7:40 pm.

DESCRIPTION:Eureka Road Rally is an SCCA Divisional Course Rally written by Jeanne English. It is a companion rally to ITN’s Thunder Road\, a Monte Carlo-style SCCA National Tour Rally written by Joe Akerman on Saturday\, October 15. Both are headquartered at the Hampton Inn in Arvin (Tejon Ranch)\, CA.  Registration for Eureka opens at 8:00A; route instructions are handed out at 8:30A plus your car number in minutes. Official start time is 9:00A plus your car number\, in minutes\, but once you receive your route instructions\, you are free to leave. \n\n\n\nFrom the start\, Eureka will head east to Stallion Springs (west of Tehachapi). Besides some fun roads\, the rally will visit the Tehachapi Loop and go through a covered bridge! The rally will be lightly trapped\, with Jeanne expecting most cars to do most legs correctly. You can run it using either the SCCA RRRs or SMSCC’s General Instructions\, there will be an addendum to help make that happen. \n\n\n\nThe rally will use the Richta GPS Competitor app for timing and scoring\, with timing to the second.   The maximum penalty for Eureka is 1 minute (60 seconds) per leg. Before you arrive at the start\, please download the Richta GPS Competitor app to your phone; it’s a free download for Android and Apple devices.
