SUMMARY:WI: Roads Scholar National Course Rally
DESCRIPTION:The SCCA Milwaukee Region presents the Roads Scholar National Course RoadRally\, on Saturday\, June 5\, 2021. Join your fellow RoadRally enthusiasts for this 180-mile time-speed-distance National Course RoadRally in the beautiful Wisconsin countryside. You and your rally partner will enjoy a scenic rally adventure through the marvelous country roads west of Madison\, Wisconsin. \n\n\n\nYou’ll be tested on your ability to observe\, reason\, maintain the assigned average speeds\, and follow explicit directions. This year’s event will use both Numbered and Lettered Route Instructions. There will be a variable Main Road rule. Experienced rallyists will find this rally to be one of the easier National Course rallies of the year. However\, it is not recommended for people who have never rallied before. It would be like a first-time skier attempting a blue diamond (Moderate difficulty) ski trail. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required\, and you can click here to check out the details at Hagerty MotorsportReg! Rallymaster Jim Crittenden encourages you to join fellow rallyists for the Sunday\, June 6th for the Roads Scamper National Tour. \n\n\n\nHeadquarters hotel:  Country Inn and Suites\, has a block of rooms (with two queen beds) that have been reserved for contestants at a special rate of $79/night plus tax\, but only until May 13th. This includes a hot breakfast buffet. Ask for ‘SCCA Car Rally’ to get this rate! \n\n\n\nSchedule: Check-in – 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Off – 8:31 AM  Saturday \n\n\n\nFirst Car Finished – Approx 5:30 pm \n\n\n\nCost: $75/car for SCCA Members\,  $90/car if neither contestant is an SCCA member. Two people per car required. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is required for this event. General Instructions will be emailed to all registered contestants two weeks prior to the event.

SUMMARY:IN: Main Road TSD Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:This is a Time Speed Distance (TSD) Course Rally. It will require the use of some logic and observational skills to follow the correct route. Because each leg of the rally will have an On Course route and an Off Course route\, you will need to use the Main Road Determinants given in the General Instructions to know which way the Main Road goes at each intersection. You should only execute an instruction from your route instructions if it takes you off of the Main Road.  \n\n\n\nThe rally is set up so that even if you take the Off Course route\, you will arrive at the On Course control\, just at the incorrect time. SUMMARY:VT: SCCA New  England Region Summer Challenge RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:Short version – The Summer Challenge Road Rally\, with Rallymaster John Buffum\, will be sanctioned by the SCCA NER and held on Saturday\, June 19th. More information is available on https://winterchallengerally.com or by reaching out to Buffum via email: johnbuffum1@gmail.com.  \n\n\n\nJune 13\, 2021: The Entry list with car numbers is posted. To clarify\, the start is at the Park and Ride next to Exit 4  near Randolph\, Vermont. The TECH FORM is also posted – you need to fill this out and bring it with you to get your Route Information. You need to have printed the Generals and Richta info as there will be none given out at Registration. \n\n\n\nJune 8\, 2021: A NEW SAMPLE MAP is posted. The original one left off the important scale. Also\, a new entry list. \n\n\n\nJune 6\, 2021: A new Entry List is posted. \n\n\n\nJune 4\, 2021: The General Instructions\, a Sample Timecard\, and Richta control info are all posted. We have 14 entries\, and a new Entry list will be posted within the week. If you have any questions\, don’t be afraid to email me. \n\n\n\nMay 25\, 2021: The Sample Routes and Info are posted.  No new entries – now’s the time :). \n\n\n\nMay 17\, 2021: The first Entry List is posted. \n\n\n\nMay 10\, 2021: Now that I’ve done an event as a competitor\, I have more insight into what happens during an event. Although it’s not necessary to score well\, it’s nice to actually see the timing point (I never saw any at Seacoast). Now that we have to stay on time – all the time – you need to have a free zone after every “Stop’ (where there isn’t a pause) to avoid speeding after the “Stop.” For a reason I’m not sure about\, the scores are better than in the past; thus\, mileages at the Start of a Leg and Timing CP’s should be accurate to the thousandth of a mile – OR – competitors need to be told that the mileage ‘rolls over’ from whatever happened to be shown on the hundredth-reading odometer at the CP. Example: At the start of an event\, you understand that the start mileage is 0.00(0) – not 0.00(4\, or something); the mileage is understood to be “0” in the thousandth place. At Timing CP’s\, a Rallymaster could decide -and tell competitors – that whatever his odo showed to the CP (in hundredths) is what the next leg starts at. \n\n\n\nApril 28\, 2021: The ENTRY INFO is posted. I’ll be putting up more info here as we go along. \n\n\n\nApril 22\, 2021: I’ve been out on the course a couple of times. It’s a nice new area – South and East of Randolph. There’s a few really good stretches of twisty roads over the Vermont hills. It’s also a nice change from the Winter Challenge (and the Seacoast Scramble) – it’s during the day so you can see the countryside – and maybe see the control locations :)! The Entry info will be up on this site next week. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMarch 15\, 2021:  I’ve picked a date for the SUMMER CHALLENGE RALLY – JUNE 19. It will start again like last year – at Exit 4 of I 89 in Randolph\, VT.;  10 am to 5 pm\, running south and east to White River Jct and then back.   More info will be available on this website as we go along; perhaps Entry info on May 1.
