SUMMARY:ON: Hagerty Maple Mille
DESCRIPTION:The Hagerty Maple Mille is a budget-minded driving adventure through Ontario for 1979 and earlier touring and sports cars (with exceptions for select newer cars on an application basis). This un-scored\, non-competitive event takes place entirely within the province of Ontario and consists of approximately 1000km of driving over three days. The Maple Mille is organized by Squamish Classic Car Adventures using straightforward route instructions. Each entrant is required to read the Supplementary Regulations\, which contain all the details and ‘rules’ for the event\, before completing the Entry Form. \n\n\n\nThe Hagerty Maple Mille will start on Friday\, September 20th\, 2024\, and finish on Sunday\, September 22nd\, 2024. To ensure an “adventure\,” the route will remain secret until competitors receive their entry packages at registration. Way-finding instructions will be detailed and clear\, and will not require any calculations or rally knowledge. The event consists of 100% paved roads\, with some remote routes and destinations. Driving for each day is scheduled during daylight hours. Car wash facilities are available at each overnight stop\, though our definition of ‘facilities’ is rather loose. The coin-op wash-bay down the road may suffice! \n\n\n\nVehicle Acceptance\n\n\n\nThe Hagerty Maple Mille Adventure is open to sport\, touring and classic cars from 1979 and earlier. Sorry\, no motorcycles on this event. All vehicles attending the Hagerty Fall Classic are expected to meet legal roadworthiness standards at an absolute minimum. Generally guests should ensure their vehicles are ready for a long weekend of driving through back-country and winding roads\, keeping in mind that short jaunts around town may not fully prepare your vehicle for long hours of remote highways. \n\n\n\nThe Delorean Rule\n\n\n\nVehicles made after 1979 are considered on a case-by-case basis\, under a rule we call “The Delorean Rule”. If you think your post-1979 car fits within the spirit of our events\, simply enter as per normal and ensure we have some photos and background story on the car. \n\n\n\nRReNews: The starting location may not be City Hall\, yet our calendar needs a starting location. Stay tuned for details as they become available.

SUMMARY:NF: Targa Newfoundland 2024
DESCRIPTION:Held on the island of Newfoundland on seaside roadways and through quaint towns and outports\, Targa Newfoundland is motorsport’s ultimate road rally\, a thrilling challenge to test your skills and abilities. Nowhere else will you get to race through towns and outports at speed; nowhere else will you enjoy the people\, the culture and the hospitality of one of North America’s most beautiful destinations. \n\n\n\nSince 2002\, Targa Newfoundland has run 23 annual events composed of close to 1000 stages. That is an astounding record of achievement. During those 23 events\, organizers discovered that Targa is all about the participants who enter\, the challenges they face\, and how they deal with those challenges during the competition. Friends are made\, and deep and lasting bonds are created. \n\n\n\n#TargaNewfoundland #wefoundtheroads

SUMMARY:BC: Rush to Gold Bridge
DESCRIPTION:The Rush to ‘Gold Bridge’ (R2GB) is our end-of-August\, 3-day driving event organized by Classic Car Adventures. Originally conceived as “Dave’s Birthday Touring Adventure\,” our first year took us to Gold Bridge… thus\, the event was called “The Rush to Gold Bridge.” The actual destination is subject to change yearly\, but the name remains the same! The event features a mixed Tarmac and Gravel route\, with additional instructions for those who’d prefer a 100% tarmac adventure. Each entrant will receive both route options and maps to show when and where each route will cross similar points. We’ve made every effort to adjust the routes and timings so that all participants can meet up for breaks mid-day and arrive at the hotels at a similar time.  \n\n\n\nImagine\, if you will\, a group of Classic Car Enthusiasts who literally just love to drive and hang out together. Some of us are going to try some gravel roads. The other members of our group\, the tarmac set\, is made up of folks who love to get out and drive\, but really aren’t sure about subjecting their cars to some gravel. That\, in a nutshell\, is the “Rush to Gold Bridge.” \n\n\n\nThe route for the 2024 R2GB will remain secret until entrants receive their “route-book” at registration. Instructions for this year’s event will be a combination of Google Maps instructions\, photocopies of older CCA event route books\, relevant map sections\, and GPS destination points (where available). Entrants are expected to arrive with good humor and a willingness to explore\, and a sense of humor when a road is found not to exist or a locked gate is encountered. You will not need any special rally equipment or rally knowledge. The event consists of paved and gravel roads through mountainous terrain\, with driving scheduled through daylight hours. \n\n\n\nA sense of humour\, and adventure\, is expected of all our entrants. \n\n\n\nFor more information and to register your team\, click here.

MINI USA has also declared the theme for this summer’s event as “Camp MINI”\, which promises to bring MINI owners together in a big way to deliver stunning natural sights and foster new friendships along the western route. \n\n\n\nThe Camp MINI theme for MTTS 2024 will be visible throughout the nine-day rally through a number of digital and “in real life” (IRL) experiences for the whole MINI family. Special evening events are planned for Salt Lake City and Seattle. \n\n\n\nRegistration fees will vary between $40 per day to $200 for “going all the way.” Leg 1 tickets from Albuquerque to Salt Lake City are available for $100. Leg 2 tickets from Bozeman to Seattle are available for $125. All registration fees also include an official event goody bag. \n\n\n\nMTTS 2024 kicks off in Albuquerque\, N.M.\, on July 13 and concludes with a Rally Finale on Sunday evening\, July 21\, in Seattle\, Wash. The on-road adventure will traverse five states and nine cities. After departing Albuquerque\, the MINI caravan will head north through Colorado and Utah to Salt Lake City\, UT. From there\, drivers can explore nearby national treasures\, including Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. Continuing through Big Sky country\, MTTS 2024 will stop in Bozeman and Missoula\, Mont.\, then head west to Spokane\, Wash. From there\, drivers will cruise southwest\, passing through the scenic mountains and fruit-filled valleys of Yakima\, Wash. Participants will then finish the final leg heading west to Seattle\, complete with vistas of legendary Mount Rainier. \n\n\n\nThe most recent MTTS in 2022 saw a remarkable turnout\, with over 2\,000 enthusiastic MINI owners amassing a diverse fleet of more than 800 MINI vehicles\, each showcasing unique shapes\, sizes\, and colors. The group covered over 1\,700 miles down an inland route from Vermont to South Carolina\, traversing eight cities along state and country roads. \n\n\n\nTo see the latest updates on MTTS 2024\, visit MINITAKESTHESTATES.com. SUMMARY:BC: Hagerty Spring Thaw
DESCRIPTION:The Hagerty Spring Thaw is a budget-minded driving adventure through British Columbia for pre-1979 and earlier touring and sports cars\, with exceptions for select newer cars per car (see the FAQ section for the Delorean Rule. This un-scored\, non-competitive event takes place entirely within the province of British Columbia and consists of approximately 1200km of driving over three days. The Spring Thaw is organized by Squamish Classic Car Adventures using straightforward route instructions. Each entrant must read the Supplementary Regulations\, which contain all the details and ‘rules’ for the event\, before completing the Entry Form. \n\n\n\nThe Hagerty Spring Thaw will start on Friday\, May 3rd\, 2024\, and finish on Sunday\, May 5th\, 2024. To ensure an “adventure\,” the route will remain secret until competitors receive their entry packages at registration. Way-finding instructions will be detailed and clear and will not require any calculations or rally knowledge. The event consists of 100% paved roads with some mountainous terrain\, and driving is scheduled during daylight hours. Car wash facilities are available at each overnight stop\, though our definition of ‘facilities’ is rather loose. The coin-op down the road may suffice! \n\n\n\nVehicle Acceptance\n\n\n\nThe Hagerty Spring Thaw Adventure is open to sport\, touring and classic cars from 1979 and earlier. Sorry\, no motorcycles on this event. All vehicles attending the Hagerty Spring Thaw are expected to meet legal roadworthiness standards at an absolute minimum. \n\n\n\nImportant Changes From Previous Years:\n\n\n\n\nEntrants for 2024 will be required to know how many Kilometers/miles their car goes on a tank of fuel\, and how much supplementary fuel you will need if you cannot travel 325km on a full tank.\n\n\n\n\nRReNews Note: At posting\, we don’t have the starting hotel location\, so we use a City Hall for the town.

SUMMARY:NH: Great American Mountain Rallye Revival Celebrates 70th Anniversary of 1953 Rally
DESCRIPTION:The Great American Mountain Rally Revival (GAMRR) will return to the beautiful Green Mountain State of Vermont this Fall. This fall will be the 70th Anniversary of the first running of the Great American Mountain Rally! \n\n\n\nThanksgiving weekend in 1953 started the Great American Mountain Rallye that ran for four years – through 1956. In 2018\, my friend Steve McKelvie and I decided to revive this historical event as the Great American Mountain Rally Revival (GAMRR). \n\n\n\nSince that first revival running in 2018\, our entries have traversed almost 1600 miles through some of New England’s most beautiful countryside. We have run through New York’s Adirondack Mountains\, Vermont’s Green Mountains\, and New Hampshire & Maine’s White Mountains and Lakes Regions. We have retraced hundreds of miles of the original routes that were run in the 1950s. \n\n\n\nIn 2023\, we will run the event out of the Bolton Valley area of Vermont\, which affords us access to great mountain passes\, rolling farmland\, and the Lake Champlain Valley. If you have participated in GAMRR before\, you know the quality of Vermont roads; otherwise\, you will surely enjoy what we have in store for this year. As we did last year\, we have a very special stop for lunch on day one at an amazing automotive facility. \n\n\n\nPricing and lodging details will be forthcoming in the next few weeks\, and we anticipate opening registration in May. We are hoping you can join us for this special event! \n\n\n\nPlease click here to follow our GAMRR 2023 blog for information as it is developed. If you would like to be added to our 2023 GAMRR list\, please email me\, and we will add you to the list for emails with important information. \n\n\n\nTill then\, stay tuned via our Facebook page to be kept abreast of important updates about the GAMRR 2023. \n\n\n\nClick here to read about the 2022 GAMRR on RReNews.

SUMMARY:TX to CA: The 4th Trans-America
DESCRIPTION:America is a land intrinsically linked with the automobile\, and whilst the United States cannot lay a claim to being the ones that invented the contraption that we are all obsessed with\, thanks to the likes of Ford and Durant et al. the motor car became something that would touch the lives of many and not just a few. It is a country that has inspired many\, with its tall tales\, cities that reach up to the heavens\, huge landscapes and its all-encompassing skies. There is a long tradition of travel and a pull to enjoy life on the road\, whether that be mounted on a Hog on Route 66\, cruising in a Cadillac on the road to nowhere on Highway 3 or following in the footsteps of Kerouac\, Moriarty and Ginsberg\, on the road is very much a way of life. \n\n\n\nOur own On the Road adventure will take us from Houston to San Francisco\, on a route that heads almost all the way north to the Canadian border and then back down to the ‘city by the bay.’ As always\, with our adventures\, the route will take us on roads less travelled and whilst to see America is to cruise the freeways and highways\, the roads that beckon those who choose to take on this trip will be an altogether less straight forward affair\, giving us all the pleasure of seeing an America that many eyes never get to see. As Kerouac himself said\, “There is nowhere to go\, but everywhere.” \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOver 21 days and thousands of miles our adventure will find our America\, it will introduce us to a land of contrasts\, some expected and some unexpected. Cowboy territory and the great plains will give way to the Rocky Mountains and high altitude passes\, as well as tumultuous river crossings as we forge our own route across the great divide. Gravel roads will often be our friends\, as we retrace the footsteps of the first pioneers that crossed these great lands\, national parks will be our solace against the dust of the plains and deserts\, offering a luscious oasis of green flora amongst fast flowing rivers and spectacular wildlife. For those with a head for heights the mighty Teton range will leave us breathless\, and the venerable and ancient trees of the Klamath Forest will leave us humbled. \n\n\n\nThe event is open for vintage and cars built before 1948 and for Classic cars of a type built before 1986. Cars of a later date but unchanged mechanical specification will be considered at the Organisers’ discretion. Classes based on engine size will subdivide these categories. \n\n\n\nThe event is suitable for both novice and more experienced crews. Many roads are good tarmac and gravel\, with competition on more remote roads\, private land or race circuits. An easy to follow tulip route book will be supplied. Our experienced team of officials will be at your disposal at all times to support you and we will provide hints and tips on navigation. \n\n\n\nWho can participate?\n\n\n\nThe event is open for vintage and cars built before 1948 and for Classic cars of a type built before 1986. SUMMARY:NH: Great American Mountain Rallye Revival
DESCRIPTION:History of the Original Great American Mountain Rallye 1953-1957 \n\n\n\nThe flag dropped on the first GAMR on Thanksgiving Day of 1953\, and the rally continued every November through 1957. Described in the April 1956 issue of Auto Age as “America’s longest\, toughest\, and coldest rallye\,” the races attracted driving teams from across America\, Europe\, and Scandinavia. Conducted the weekend of American Thanksgiving\, the rally typically featured challenging snowy weather through New York’s Adirondack\, New Hampshire’s White\, and Vermont’s Green Mountains. Tire chains were an absolute must! \n\n\n\nIn its day\, the Great American Mountain Rallye attracted top teams from around the world. The Rootes Team entered Sheila van Damm in 1953 and 1954. The late great Stirling Moss also competed in this rally in 1954. The great Maurice Gastonides\, the 1953 Monte Carlo Rally winner\, was also a competitor. One year\, the official starter was multi-time world driving champion Juan Manuel Fangio. \n\n\n\nThis year will be the fourth running of the “Revival.” Our first three years were huge successes\, and we plan for this year to be as good or better than last! \n\n\n\nGAMRR 2022 \n\n\n\nGAMRR is a hybrid rally incorporating a “Tour” and a Regularity Rally traversing approximately 400 miles. There will be a course to follow through the New Hampshire Lakes Region\, the White Mountains\, and Maine utilizing written (NRIs) and Tulip instructions and a short map-reading section. The Great American Mountain Rallye is well suited for inexperienced and veteran rallyists alike.  \n\n\n\nJoin the GAMRR mailing list to learn the latest details\, and we’ll be updating details here by June 1st. Please reach out to Rallymaster Gary Hamilton and check out the GAMR web page and Facebook for previous event coverage and the Great American Mountain Rallye news.

SUMMARY:AZ: 28th Annual Copperstate 1000
DESCRIPTION:The Copperstate 1000 is one of the premier vintage car road rallies in North America. The Men’s Arts Council (MAC) created the event in 1990 as a fundraiser for Phoenix Art Museum\, and this event continues to set the benchmark for excellence. The finest vintage automobiles in the world have graced the scenic highways of Arizona during this annual four-day event.\nThis annual event celebrates the automotive cultural legacy by featuring some of the finest working examples of vintage\, sports\, racing\, classic\, and grand touring automobiles manufactured before the 1974 model year. \nEach year\, a new route covers 1\,000 miles of beautiful desert terrain\, verdant river valley\, and alpine landscape throughout Arizona and beyond. Approximately 80 qualifying vintage automobiles with drivers and co-drivers from all over the United States\, Canada\, Mexico\, and Europe. The relationships that are made during these rallies often develop into lifelong friendships. Many participants return year after year. \nThe collector car hobby continues to thrive into a lifestyle as more collectors are driving and enjoying their vintage automobiles. The Bell Lexus North Scottsdale Copperstate 1000 epitomizes such a lifestyle event. It allows participants to enjoy four fully catered days of glorious driving with fellow enthusiasts while having only the sheer exhilaration of the open road to contend with as all the details have been handled by our more than capable staff – from luxury accommodations to fully catered meals\, parking lot hospitality parties and a U-Haul sponsored luggage truck\, the MAC crew thinks of everything. Copperstate’s team of mechanics and professional tow drivers is also on hand to provide any roadside assistance. \nCheck out this video from the 2017 COPPERSTATE 1000: \n2017 COPPERSTATE 1000
