SUMMARY:TX: Texas Region Sasha's Children's Book Run Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA Texas Region as we close our 2022 Rally season\, supporting a good cause while honoring Sasha Lanz! The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) cordially invites all fellow car enthusiasts to Sasha’s Children’s Book Run Rally\, a Trek rally benefiting the Scottish Rite for Children\, one of the nation’s leading pediatric orthopedic centers. All are welcome\, and no prior rally experience is necessary. \n\n\n\nA bit of history: Sasha Lanz was instrumental in building a successful RoadRally program in the SCCA Texas Region and leading it for many years. One of his favorite events was the Children’s Book Run. Entrants were asked to donate two children’s books\, gathered at check-in on Rally Day. Over the six years\, we have held the rally\, hundreds of books were donated to Sottish Rite!  We would like to keep this tradition alive and conduct a Children’s Book Run in his name every year.    \n\n\n\nThis year we plan to conduct the event again as a Trek\, a non-competitive driving event on scenic country roads. No questions\, puzzles\, tricks or traps\, or timed controls\, just a fun drive following a pre-determined route in Collin\, Grayson\, and Denton counties using a “convoy style” format – and a bit of trivia: we’ll pass through 7 towns named after women. We’ll provide basic route instructions as a backup only. Weather permitting\, we’ll stop at one or two places of interest for a group picture. \n\n\n\nEach person in the car is asked to contribute two NEW books for the patients at Scottish Rite. They need books for all ages – 5 through 16 – including Look-and-Find books\, board books\, chapter books\, Spanish-language books\, etc. We will collect the books at registration/check-in. \n\n\n\nWe encourage you to pre-register via this link at Motorsportreg\, where you will find important registration and event details. This helps us plan and have ample copies of the route instructions\, too! \n\n\n\nRegistration/check-in on-site will be open from 10:15 am to 10:45 am\, with a Rally Day Safety Briefing at 10:50 am. Teams leave the start after 11:00 am for the approximately three-hour drive covering 110 miles of countryside.

SUMMARY:OK: NE Oklahoma Visite des Piste de Course Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:The day after Veteran’s Day 2022\, Saturday\, November 12th\, the NEOkla Region Sports Car Club of America will present the Visites Des Piste de Course. This is an ‘Average Joe’ SCCA Social Road Rally that will tour Oklahoma’s former and current permanent road race circuits! \n\n\n\nBeginning at the Cyrus Avery Centennial Plaza parking lot atop Crybaby Hill in Tulsa\, Oklahoma the route will cover Avery Drive (named after the Route 66 icon\, Cyrus Avery)\, most of the hilly\, winding Coyote Trail in west Tulsa County\, make a lap or two of the housing development that used to be the Warbonnet Raceway Park\, followed by a cruise through two 129-year-old towns in south Pawnee County. The rally will end at Hallett Motor Racing Circuit.  \n\n\n\nOnce in the facility\, participants can join in on Hallett’s Veterans Celebration Day where there will be a car show\, food trucks\, the Finish Line indoor cafe will be open and parade laps around the 1.8 mile circuit will be offered at lunch time. DESCRIPTION:The Central Pennsylvania Region SCCA Witches Rallye\, is sanctioned by the Sports Car Club of America and is subject to the rules and regulations of the SCCA Road Rally Program. For the most part this is all simple stuff\, but PLEASE be aware of the requirements\, found at the online Registration link. \n\n\n\nWitches Rallye\, a Scavenger-Hunt Benefit will be starting earlier than past years. You’ll travel on central PA roads following a timed route described in the clue book\, answering questions about the sights you see along the way. Scores calculated while you socialize over FREE dinner at the secret finish location. Enter raffle drawings for prizes\, and trophies for top scoring teams and best costumes. If you enjoy a challenge\, or are looking for something fun and different to try\, this is the event for you! Bring your friends and family. The entry fee is $40 per Driver/Navigator Team and $10 for each additional Passenger over 11 years of age. \n\n\n\nRegistration: Opens at 1:30 pm  \n\n\n\nParticipant Meeting: 2:45 pm  \n\n\n\nFirst Car Off the Line: 3:00 pm  \n\n\n\nThe Overview: You will need a Driver and a Navigator\, and may bring as many passengers as you have seatbelts. DESCRIPTION:The Ghost Tracks GTA Rally is sanctioned by the SCCA Allegheny Highlands Sports Car Club and was upgraded to a National GTA Rally.  \n\n\n\nGhost Tracks is a shortest-distance rally\, an untimed RoadRally following an undefined route. Instead of the usual route instructions and timing controls\, contestants are given a map and a list of waypoints to be visited. Contestants receive penalty points for each 0.10 mile traversed during the rally. Thus\, the goal is to visit all the required sites (waypoints) in the allotted time while traversing the shortest distance possible. These waypoints may be visited in any order of your choosing after leaving the start control and before you arrive at the finish control. Unlimited use of additional maps\, GPS\, Waze\, etc.\, is permitted.  \n\n\n\nThe available roads are all public roads in and bordering Indiana County\, PA. Typical fall foliage and scenery should be superb as you travel on many roads most of you will have never seen before. Each team (minimum of two people) will use their maps and waypoint list to plot a course and may drive at whatever legal speeds are comfortable for them. Six hours are allotted to complete the rally\, but it should take less time. Awards for best overall finishing position(s) and best finishing position of any team with no prior experience with the shortest distance rally. \n\n\n\nIf you prefer a shorter version\, please consider our As The Crow Flies on the same day. Register for Ghost Tracks at Motorsportreg today and try this rally style. \n\n\n\nEntrants can approach the waypoint from any direction and be assured that the transponder provided by the Rally Committee will confirm their arrival at the waypoint. Mileage will be zeroed at the Start Control and frozen at the Finish Control\, having accumulated all of the mileage the transponder has traversed. This total mileage will be the final score after adding a penalty of fifteen miles for each waypoint not attained if applicable. The shortest distance wins.  \n\n\n\nThis will be the first of its kind and requires no equipment\, not even a cell phone. The rally is intended to be a model for other Regions to host a rally that requires minimal effort on the part of a Rally Committee. Rallymaster Bruce Gezon strongly believes that the format may become a preferred rally type.

SUMMARY:PA: Catch 22 - Puzzles and Conundrums
DESCRIPTION:Update October 20th — Fifty-six teams and two buses puzzled their way through some of Adams County most beautiful roads on Saturday\, October 15. A great time was had by all as we drove past 19 preserved properties over 48 miles\, and competed and learned at three fun-filled stops. The Land Conservancy of Adams County has already set Saturday\, October 21st\, 2023 for their 25th Anniversary edition next year.  \n\n\n\n√. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEach year the Land Conservancy of Adams County organizes a Road Rally over lesser-traveled routes in the region. This year\, the 24th Annual Land Conservancy Fall Classic Road Rally\, features a meandering drive through rural Adams County\, highlighting vistas and scenic roads that showcase our beautiful countryside.  \n\n\n\nOn October 15\, Road Rally teams will be delighted and confused as they meander through Adams County on roads less traveled. Teams will be challenged with paradoxical situations with no apparent way out. It’s a logical conundrum where circumstances feed each other and bring you back to square 1. \n\n\n\nWhat came first the chicken or the egg? \n\n\n\n Catch 22 – Puzzles and Conundrums is a fundraiser for LCAC that often leaves participants amazed and with a newfound appreciation for the landscape around us.

SUMMARY:PA: Monopoly Redux VI GTA Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Steel Cities Region\, SCCA (western Pennsylvania area) will host its End of Summer Showcase Festival (an ‘all things SCCA’ event) on Saturday\, August 27th\, is the Monopoly Red VI RoadRally. In addition to other SCCA activities such as an autocross\, road races\, and time trials\, there will be a road rally.  \n\n\n\nThe 50 mile\, approximately three-hour afternoon event will start and finish at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex in Wampum\, PA\, just off the Pennsylvania Turnpike Beaver Valley Exit 13\, 45 miles north of Pittsburgh\, PA. \n\n\n\nLike many SportsCar Club of America RoadRally events\, this one will use fun-to-drive paved\, public\, lightly traveled country roads. You will travel below the speed limit searching for the correct signs to move tokens around the Monopoly Game board. The winning team will be the one coming closest to the correct trip around the board. The event will wind its way through tall forests and small towns\, over streams and past large farms north and east of the start. \n\n\n\nNo rally experience or equipment is necessary but you will need a legal car\, a licensed Driver and a Navigator. The entry fee is $30 per car\, and only one member of the team needs an SCCA membership. DESCRIPTION:The 33rd Annual Get the Dust-Off Rallye will be held on Sunday\, May 1st\, 2022\, and is co-hosted by the SCCA Washington DC Region and MG’s of Baltimore! It will start and finish at Dejon Vineyards! This will be a straightforward Time-Speed-Distance Monte Carlo-style rally of approximately 60 competitive miles\, with no unpaved sections. Timing will be scored to one-one hundredth of a minute (.01). Our 2022 Get the Dust Off Rallye will have no unpaved sections.  \n\n\n\nCLASSES: All vehicles are welcome. Classes will be provided for Historic up to 1981 and modern 1982 and later\, for this Seat-of-the-Pants Rallye (let’s not get too serious about this and have fun). Awards will be based on the number of entrants per class. \n\n\n\nSTART & FINISH: Dejon Vineyards. Bring along your picnic basket lunch and tailgating supplies. A food truck will be available on site. Wine tasting will be provided for entrants (MGOB hand stamp required). \n\n\n\nREGISTRATION: Opens at 10:30 AM. SUMMARY:MI: Metamora Road Rally Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:The Metamora Lioness Lions will hold a Road Rally Scavenger Hunt on Saturday\, April 30. Start and finish are the Metamora Lions Hall\, 3790 N. Oak St. in Metamora. Arrive at 5:30 PM for a 6 PM start. The rally finish is at 10 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe road rally allows participants to test their GPS skills\, answer questions\, solve riddles\, and capture pictures/items along the designated route. The road rally is composed of a series of encrypted messages that need to be solved. Once understood\, each message will direct teams to drive to a specific location where they must find the answer to a question. Each correct answer is worth points. The most points win. \n\n\n\nDrinks and snacks will be provided at the hall from 9-11:30 p.m. Alcohol is BYOB at the after-party. Prizes will be awarded to first\, second and third-place finishers. \n\n\n\nThe maximum is four people per vehicle. SUMMARY:MA: Cape Cod Courageous Old Timers' Rally
DESCRIPTION:This “scavenger hunt” of Cape Cod is a low-pressure event. Teams will be supplied with a map and clues to locations all over the Cape. The object is to determine from the clues where these locations are on the map\, plan the shortest route to those locations and\, once at the location\, answer the question(s) and do so by driving the fewest miles possible. Each two-person team chooses its own pace. The distance traveled will be at least 120 miles. Above all\, SCCA New England Region hopes you will have FUN and maybe learn some things about the Cape. \n\n\n\nCheck-In/Registration: Between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. After completing check-in/registration and the odometer check\, you will receive your map and clues\, at which point you can begin the rally. \n\n\n\nEntry Fee: $50.00 per car for SCCA members and past Old Timers’ Rally participants if received by March 31\, 2022. DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites you to join us at Logan’s Roadhouse for Jerry White’s annual Valentine’s Day-themed road rally. It will be about a 90-mile drive on some of the scenic hard surfaced country roads in the Brazos River Valley in Parker\, Hood\, and Palo Pinto Counties. No prior rally experience or SCCA membership is necessary. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is to see how many correct puzzle solutions (many with a sweetheart theme) you can find based on signs and objects along the rally route. Puzzles can have from zero (0) to four (4) correct solutions. One (1) penalty point is awarded for each findable puzzle solution you miss marking as found and one (1) is awarded for each solution you mark as found when it didn’t exist or in some way was not a correct solution. Low score wins. There will never be more than one puzzle active at a time. Think of it as a visual scavenger hunt. \n\n\n\nGoogle Forms will be used to display the route instructions and puzzles and to collect and score you and your sweetheart’s/navigator’s solutions. To use a Google Form\, you will need a browser on a smartphone\, tablet\, or laptop computer to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data.  \n\n\n\nIn addition\, you will need a separate smartphone to run the Richta GPS Competitor app. It will use GPS signals and a minor amount of cellular data to monitor your time and course and tell you when to stop working on a puzzle and/or prepare to do the next route instruction. SUMMARY:LA: Red River Region Gimmick Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to do something fun with your car that doesn’t involve speed and won’t cost you much money? For the first time in over a decade\, the Red River Region is holding a road rally. Mark your calendars for Sunday\, February 20th. We’ll gather at the old VF Outlets Mall in Arcadia at 9:00 am. \n\n\n\nAs long as it’s registered\, licensed\, and road-worthy\, any vehicle may be used. Each team must have at least a Driver and a Navigator. One of them must be an SCCA member — either an Annual Member or a Weekend Member\, and everyone else in the vehicle needs to be at least a Trial Member. You’ll need to show your Driver’s license and proof of insurance at Registration. You’ll also need something to write with and a clipboard or some other solid object to use as a ‘desk.’ \n\n\n\nA rally is a non-speed event\, driven on regular roads and obeying all traffic laws. The object is to see how close you can follow directions and how well you can answer questions along the way. You’ll be assigned a number at Registration\, and your starting mileage will be recorded.  \n\n\n\nFollowing a short Drivers’ meeting\, at which you’ll be given the route directions\, you’ll be sent out at two-minute intervals. Your starting time will be recorded. When you return\, your arrival time and ending mileage will be recorded. You’ll also turn in your answer sheet.This will be a very simple ‘gimmick’ rally designed to introduce you to rallying and see if there’s enough interest and participation to re-start the active rally program that we used to have. It’s a great way to have some fun with your car when we’re not autocrossing.Entry fees: $10 for SCCA Members and $20 for Weekend Members

After each rally\, a packet of materials (General Instructions\, Route Instructions\, Question and Answer Sheet\, Explanation/Critique Sheets) will be made available. This way\, if you miss any of the rallies or schools or only become aware of our program part of the way into the year\, you can watch the recording(s) and run the rally(ies) at your convenience (not scored) to get up to speed on covered skills and concepts. \n\n\n\nThe Back-to-Basics Series will help prepare you for a “course-following” (aka\, trap) rally. DESCRIPTION:For the past 30 years\, the wonderful folks at Subaru have sponsored the NNJR-SCCA & Motorsport Club of North Jersey’s Teddy Bear Charity Road Rallye.  \n\n\n\nEntry in the rally is open to the general public\, and it requires only a car (or SUV/light truck) with a working odometer and a pen to compete! The entry fee per car is a brand new Teddy Bear worth at least $35.00 retail\, donated to the USMC Reserve Toys for Tots Program. Let’s fill up some Subaru’s with wonderful Toys for the Tots! \n\n\n\nRegistration opens at 10:30 AM\, and the first car departs at Noon. \n\n\n\nThere will be many classes\, with Awards for 1st and 2nd in each of 3 Classes: Expert\, Intermediate\, & Novice\, and additional recognition for these Teams: Best First Time\, Best Subaru\, Best SCCA\, Best PCA\, Best BMW\, Best RVSCC\, Best Family\, Best Husband & Wife/Partner\, and Dead Last But Finished.
