SUMMARY:NY: NCHS Road Rally Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:Looking to escape the rigors and isolation of Covid-19 for a bit? The Niagara County Historical Society is hosting their first ever NCHS Road Rally fundraiser on June 12\, 2021. The entry fee is a $50.00 donation to the Society per vehicle\, and a driver and at least one crewmember is required\, but you can add more\, as long as you finish with everyone who started.  \n\n\n\nUnlike the Memorial Day Indianapolis 500\, our Rally is NOT a race but a contest that will test driving skills\, knowledge\, powers of observation\, memory and the ability to do simple calculations while maneuvering your vehicle across a timed course over the roads of Niagara County.  \n\n\n\nParticipating vehicles will be given departure times between 9:00 AM and 1:00 PM\, route instructions and a sealed envelope containing the Rally end point\, just in case you get hopelessly lost.  Participants will not have to leave their vehicle for anything. The drive will take approximately 2 hours. \n\n\n\nThe “fun” doesn’t end with just the leisurely drive through the country\, your team will also be tasked with decrypting clues\, identifying landmarks\, and recording information as you travel along the route.  On your arrival at the destination\, you will turn in your driving log with your recorded information for scoring. For timing concerns\, much of the route was planned below the posted speed limits but you will be responsible for obeying all traffic and civic laws. \n\n\n\nDue to this year’s pandemic\, there will be no post-Rally Award Ceremony\, but final results will be emailed/mailed to you within a few days of completing the course. Winners will be posted at the Niagara County History Center\, 215 Niagara St.\, and in the Erie Canal Discovery Center\, 24 Church St.\, both in Lockport and prizes TBA. Rally Instructions will be mailed/e-mailed to each competitor upon registration\, but your route instructions will be handed to your navigator only four minutes prior to your departure time. SUMMARY:OH: Delusional Drive to Daly Rd Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an afternoon of Dashing thru Northern Hamilton County from Fairfield to Mt. Healthy to New Baltimore\, along city streets and county roads on the Delusional Drive to Daly Rd Road Rally. This is an easy\, fun rally of 100 miles\, and as many questions to keep you and your Navigator awake searching for the clues to the answers. There will also be a set of EZ Instructions for those who would rather just enjoy the drive. The search is on for Daly Rd. When you see it\, you’ll need to mark it down for extra points\, or should I say for extra credit\, as the idea is to have the least number of points\, not the most. We should finish up starting about 2:30\, meeting afterward for food and beverages and scoring at Rick’s Tavern next door. \n\n\n\nPre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a place and to facilitate social distancing at on-site check-in. The cost for the event is $30\, with a discount available if at least one person in the car is a current SCCA member. \n\n\n\nA road rally is traversed over public roads within the legal speed limit. This is a GTA aka Game/Tour/Adventure Rally\, with no calculations necessary. The challenge is to follow the route and answer as many questions as possible. The Rally Master is Jim Knepper. \n\n\n\nChoose your option for this event and sign up for one of these options: \n\n\n\n(1) the competitive route instructions will include questions to be answered in order to score and determine the winner. The points earned will be counted for the Regional Championship. Some of the route directions will require some decision-making\, but there are no intentional traps.  \n\n\n\n(2) or if you prefer to join us for a fun drive with no scoring or prizes\, you can choose the Drive Instructions. The route is the same for both options\, but the fun drive will have explicit instructions to make it very difficult to get off course. \n\n\n\nThe schedule is: \n\n\n\n  9:00 AM – Registration and Check-in opens 10:15 AM – Safety Meeting (approximate time) 10:30 AM – Depart (approximate time)   2:30 PM – Could arrive at endpoint (approximate time)   3:30 PM – Must be at endpoint in order to be scored and awarded points \n\n\n\nFollowing COVID-19 protocols at the time\, we expect to be socializing after the event. If you do not feel comfortable meeting as a group\, your answer sheet can be picked up from you in the parking lot.

SUMMARY:TX: Historic Tour of San Antonio Social RoadRally
DESCRIPTION:San Antonio has had more battles fought within its city limits than any other town in North America. These battles occurred while San Antonio was under the jurisdiction of Spain\, the Republic of Mexico\, the Republic of Texas\, and the United States. This Road Rally will take you to the approximate location of each site; however\, the exact location of some of the sites is not known\, and other sites ranged over several miles. If you want a more detailed investigation of any site\, you are encouraged to revisit site(s) on your own and at your convenience. The oldest two sites date from 1813\, and the latest site dates from the 1870s. \n\n\n\nThis is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along city streets\, and speed bumps may be an issue for some cars. We will start on the west side of San Antonio\, proceed to the far south side\, and then complete our tour just north of downtown. It should take between 90 minutes and two hours for this Road Rally as you learn about the history of San Antonio.  Questions will be asked along the way\, but awards will not be based on questions or a car’s finish position. This Road Rally is meant to be a fun social outing and learning event. DESCRIPTION:The Hurdle Rally is a Game-Tour-Adventure (GTA) Rally. After a short odometer check\, contestants will receive a map of Connecticut and a list of questions. The objective is to answer as many questions as possible in the least amount of miles (think scavenger hunt). \n\n\n\nHurdle 2021 will be run in compliance with the 2021 NER/SCCA Road Rally Regulations\, as amended. Hurdle 2021 is sanctioned by the SCCA as a National GTA and  NER/SCCA as a Special Event. \n\n\n\nTeams are limited to two adults (over age 16) per vehicle. SUMMARY:PA: Steel Cities End of Summer Showcase Festival – Monopoly III Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Steel Cities Region\, SCCA\, as part of this year’s End of Summer Showcase\, will stage the Monopoly III Road Rally on Saturday\, August 28\, 2021.  \n\n\n\nThe 60 mile\, approximately 3 hour afternoon event will start and finish at Pitt Race\, the Pittsburgh International Race Complex\, in Wampum\, PA\, just off the PA Turnpike\, Beaver Valley Exit 13\, 45 miles north of Pittsburgh\, PA.  \n\n\n\nLike similar Sports Car Club of America Road Rally events\, this one will use paved\, public\, lightly traveled country roads. Road Rally is not a race. You will travel below the speed limit searching for the correct signs to move around a Monopoly game board. The winning team will be the one who comes closest to the correct trip around that board. This event will wind its way through tall forests\, past large farms and small towns.  \n\n\n\nNo rally experience is necessary but you will need a street-legal car\, a Driver\, and a Navigator. The entry fee is $25 per car\, and only the driver needs an SCCA membership (weekend membership can be purchased at registration).  \n\n\n\nTo allow Steel Cities to prepare for the event\, teams must contact Rick Beattie by 9:00 PM\, August 25\, 2021\, to confirm their attendance and to receive further information.

DESCRIPTION:The Cedar Mountain Rotary is planning their Inaugural Road Rally for Saturday\, Oct. 9\, as part of a fundraiser for Rise & Shine.  \n\n\n\nThe objective of the rally is for a team of two\, a driver and a navigator\, to use a set of clues to reach designated points of interest in Transylvania County and Pickens County. The date was selected to take advantage of the scenic beauty of the area in the fall season. Those taking part will be asked to answer questions in the clues and take pictures of the designated points to score “points.” It is much like a scavenger hunt but on wheels.  \n\n\n\nThe starting and ending points will be at Oskar Blues Brewery\, with rally teams being sent out in two directions over the same course. We will award the teams with the most points prizes at the end. DESCRIPTION:The SCCA New England Region’s Cape Cod Courageous GTA Road Rally\, the “scavenger hunt” of Cape Cod is a low-pressure event. You will be supplied with a map and clues to locations all over the Cape.The object is to determine from the clues where these locations are on the map\, plan the shortest route to those locations and\, once at the location\, answer the question(s)\, and do so driving the fewest miles possible. Each two person team chooses its own pace.The distance traveled will be at least 120 miles. Above all it is hoped that you will have FUN and maybe learn some things about the Cape. \n\n\n\nCheck-In/Registration:  Saturday\, October 16\, in the parking lot at the rear of the International House of Pancakes (IHOP) in Hyannis\, MA\, between 730 and 930 AM. After completing check-in/registration and the odometer check\, you will receive your map and clues\, at which point you can begin the rally. \n\n\n\nEntry fee: $50.00 for SCCA members and past Old Timers’ Rally participants\, if received by October 9\, 2021.(Note: NO entries the day of the rally). $60.00 for non-SCCA members\, non-past participants\, and all late entries. Please allow enough time for us to receive mail entries no later than October 14\, 2021\, as we will not have access to postal mail after that date. \n\n\n\nNote: Rally teams usually consist of one driver and one navigator. DESCRIPTION:It’s time for another CATS Rally. This year it is a charity rally benefiting the Westmoreland Land Trust\, and the SCCA Steel Cities Region sanctions the event. Starting in Greensburg\, PA\, the 66-mile rally will run through beautiful fall foliage enveloped scenic roads in the Laurel Highlands as you attempt to find the correct answer to Rallymaster Bruce Gezon’s often devious questions. Complimentary breakfast items will be available at the registration barn. Members of the Laurel Highlands British Car Club will display their cars before the start of the rally. Following the mid-afternoon finish\, you will find food trucks for your pleasure while results are being tabulated. The local folk music group\, The NewLanders\, will provide entertainment. \n\n\n\nAwards will be presented to both Experienced and Inexperienced teams. You will need to decide which category you fall in and register accordingly. Marque awards will also be presented\, donated by some of our sponsors. DESCRIPTION:Join us this Fall to help us celebrate 70 years of the Texas Region SCCA with a fun-packed weekend of National-level RoadRally on North Texas country roads. \n\n\n\nHere’s what Rick Beattie wrote about the 2019 ONTO Fall National GTA Rally: “The General Instructions described many things like numbered route instruction\, main road determinants\, and course following rules that made it more of an untimed National Course Rally.” Winner Bruce Gezon described it as “really hard\, but nevertheless the best Course Rally he had run that year.” Jerry White described the traps as “just plain fun.” Rallymaster Witt will send you the Generals\, RI’s\, and detailed descriptions of the traps and loops from the 2019 GTA if you email her at lizwitt@yahoo.com. \n\n\n\nWe’re going to do it again with a course-following GTA and a Course Rally. On some of the best rally roads around\, mainly in Collin County. And Texas is usually beautiful in October. \n\n\n\nONTO Fall National Course Rally: Saturday will be a 180-mile course-following rally through the countryside on rural Texas’ beautiful\, paved roads. And with a grand tour of the town of Farmersville\, home of Audie Murphy. Designed for the experienced rallyist\, it will have variable Main Road Rule priorities\, and both numbered and lettered Route Instructions. Additionally\, some of the numbered instructions will have a choice of actions. Speeds will be moderate with the generous use of Free Zones. The Richta app will time you. \n\n\n\nONTO Fall National GTA Rally: The Saturday GTA Rally is also course-following and has many of the same traps as the Course Rally. But it has no lettered instructions\, so many of the traps are implemented differently. You will be scored by your answers to questions designed to determine if you followed the correct course and/or applied the rules correctly. \n\n\n\nPre-registration on MSReg.com is recommended – registration opens July 1st. SUMMARY:Lone Star Region Christmas Tree Social Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:To initiate the 2021 Christmas season and to assist people to get out of the house after this past year\, the Lone Star Region of SCCA is sponsoring a Christmas Tree Social Road Rally to the Seiler Christmas Tree Farm south of Seguin. This rally will start from Bluebonnet Jeep on Interstate 35 East in New Braunfels and will wind through south Central Texas to the Tree Farm.  \n\n\n\nAlong the way\, we will travel on state\, rural\, and country roads. These roads are paved but many do not have center stripes. This is a non-speed event but you will be given historical notes along the route and you will be asked to answer questions about the route at various points. At the Seiler Christmas Tree Farm\, you may buy the Christmas tree of your choice or just enjoy the scenery. Trees are four to nine feet in height and sell for $6.00 per foot. The Rally will then leave the tree farm and continue to Kirby’s Korner in Sequin to enjoy their famous burgers and malts and to discuss cars and the rally. \n\n\n\nThis is a non-speed social Road Rally whose route will be along paved roads although some have not been paved very recently. Registration between 1:00 and 2:00 PM will be at Bluebonnet Jeep so come early and look over their fine vehicles. After a safety briefing at 1:45\, cars will be released at intervals to proceed on their scenic journey. It should take between 90 minutes and two hours for this Road Rally as you learn about the history of Central Texas. Questions will be asked along the way but awards will not be based on questions or on a car’s finish position.  \n\n\n\nThis Road Rally is meant to be a fun social outing and a learning event. Children are welcome but insurance requires that they have a waiver signed by both parents. SUMMARY:TX: Back-to-Basics RoadRally Series #1 - Generals\, RI's and Questions
DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, in addition to rallies that we have put on regularly in recent years (e.g.\, Sweetheart Ride\, Tick-Tock\, DFW Map\, Children’s Book Run)\, the Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) will be conducting a series of road rallies and schools.  \n\n\n\nThe Region is designing these to introduce rallying to newcomers and refresh and reinforce key concepts for our more experienced rallyists. This “Back-to-Basics” series will consist of four events of progressive challenge levels staged over several months. These will be SCCA GTA (Games\, Tours\, Adventures) Social Rallies\, about 45-60 miles and 2 ½ – 3 hours long. We will score them and present awards to the most successful. The objective is to conduct events in accordance with the SCCA RoadRally Rules\, starting with simple rules and instructions. Then each succeeding rally will introduce more advanced topics. \n\n\n\nThere will be a virtual Road Rally School\, six days before each rally\, where we will present the rules and instructions for that rally\, demonstrate “how-to\,” and go through applicable examples. SUMMARY:LA: Red River Region Gimmick Road Rally
DESCRIPTION:Do you want to do something fun with your car that doesn’t involve speed and won’t cost you much money? For the first time in over a decade\, the Red River Region is holding a road rally. Mark your calendars for Sunday\, February 20th. We’ll gather at the old VF Outlets Mall in Arcadia at 9:00 am. \n\n\n\nAs long as it’s registered\, licensed\, and road-worthy\, any vehicle may be used. Each team must have at least a Driver and a Navigator. One of them must be an SCCA member — either an Annual Member or a Weekend Member\, and everyone else in the vehicle needs to be at least a Trial Member. You’ll need to show your Driver’s license and proof of insurance at Registration. You’ll also need something to write with and a clipboard or some other solid object to use as a ‘desk.’ \n\n\n\nA rally is a non-speed event\, driven on regular roads and obeying all traffic laws. The object is to see how close you can follow directions and how well you can answer questions along the way. You’ll be assigned a number at Registration\, and your starting mileage will be recorded.  \n\n\n\nFollowing a short Drivers’ meeting\, at which you’ll be given the route directions\, you’ll be sent out at two-minute intervals. Your starting time will be recorded. When you return\, your arrival time and ending mileage will be recorded. You’ll also turn in your answer sheet.This will be a very simple ‘gimmick’ rally designed to introduce you to rallying and see if there’s enough interest and participation to re-start the active rally program that we used to have. It’s a great way to have some fun with your car when we’re not autocrossing.Entry fees: $10 for SCCA Members and $20 for Weekend Members

DESCRIPTION:The Texas Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) invites you to join us at Logan’s Roadhouse for Jerry White’s annual Valentine’s Day-themed road rally. It will be about a 90-mile drive on some of the scenic hard surfaced country roads in the Brazos River Valley in Parker\, Hood\, and Palo Pinto Counties. No prior rally experience or SCCA membership is necessary. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is to see how many correct puzzle solutions (many with a sweetheart theme) you can find based on signs and objects along the rally route. Puzzles can have from zero (0) to four (4) correct solutions. One (1) penalty point is awarded for each findable puzzle solution you miss marking as found and one (1) is awarded for each solution you mark as found when it didn’t exist or in some way was not a correct solution. Low score wins. There will never be more than one puzzle active at a time. Think of it as a visual scavenger hunt. \n\n\n\nGoogle Forms will be used to display the route instructions and puzzles and to collect and score you and your sweetheart’s/navigator’s solutions. To use a Google Form\, you will need a browser on a smartphone\, tablet\, or laptop computer to connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi or cellular data.  \n\n\n\nIn addition\, you will need a separate smartphone to run the Richta GPS Competitor app. It will use GPS signals and a minor amount of cellular data to monitor your time and course and tell you when to stop working on a puzzle and/or prepare to do the next route instruction. DESCRIPTION:Did you know that the mountains of the New Jersey Highlands used to be higher than the Himalayas? Have you ever wondered about the geological history of the beautiful state we are lucky enough to call home? The diverse natural beauty of the Highlands and the patterns of human settlement are determined by its geology\, whose beginnings were dramatic and violent and subsequently sculpted by 3 glaciations. All of the Highlands’ history is illustrated by features of the current landscape\, which we will interpret for you. \n\n\n\nJoin the New Jersey Highlands Coalition’s Spring Car Trek and learn about local geology\, all while experiencing the natural beauty of the Highlands firsthand. Participants will begin their trek at the High Marques dealership in Morristown and will wend their way through 65 miles* of New Jersey nature\, learning about the region’s geology! \n\n\n\nWe provide you with step-by-step directions so you don’t get lost. It’s not a race; you can drive the route at your own pace. There will be several engaging stops on this self-guided tour where you can jump out\, take a walk\, and snap a photo. SUMMARY:MA: Cape Cod Courageous Old Timers' Rally
DESCRIPTION:This “scavenger hunt” of Cape Cod is a low-pressure event. Teams will be supplied with a map and clues to locations all over the Cape. The object is to determine from the clues where these locations are on the map\, plan the shortest route to those locations and\, once at the location\, answer the question(s) and do so by driving the fewest miles possible. Each two-person team chooses its own pace. The distance traveled will be at least 120 miles. Above all\, SCCA New England Region hopes you will have FUN and maybe learn some things about the Cape. \n\n\n\nCheck-In/Registration: Between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. After completing check-in/registration and the odometer check\, you will receive your map and clues\, at which point you can begin the rally. \n\n\n\nEntry Fee: $50.00 per car for SCCA members and past Old Timers’ Rally participants if received by March 31\, 2022. (Note: NO entries on the day of the rally). $60.00 per car for non-SCCA members\, non-past participants\, and late entries. Please allow enough time for us to receive mail entries no later than March 31\, 2022\, as we will not have access to postal mail after that date. \n\n\n\nNote: Rally teams usually consist of one Driver and one Navigator. The North Side of Indy Rally\, is sanctioned by the SCCA Indianpolis Region\, is a Game Tour Adventure (GTA) style RoadRally. It is run on public roads and requires at least two participants in the vehicle (driver and navigator). Participants are given tasks to accomplish at several locations and need to complete them by traveling the least miles. DESCRIPTION:Join the SCCA Cincinnati Region on Saturday\, April 23rd\, for the Tiptoe Thru the Tulips Road Rally\, a part of the Cincinnati Regional Series. Jim Knepper is the Rallymaster for this GTA rally. It is not a precisely timed event\, and no calculations are necessary. Questions that can be answered along the route will provide scoring opportunities. You do not have to be a member to be eligible to earn points. A separate\, non-competitive\, question-free option is available for this drive.  \n\n\n\nPre-registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a place and to facilitate social distancing at on-site check-in. SUMMARY:MI: Metamora Road Rally Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:The Metamora Lioness Lions will hold a Road Rally Scavenger Hunt on Saturday\, April 30. Start and finish are the Metamora Lions Hall\, 3790 N. Oak St. in Metamora. Arrive at 5:30 PM for a 6 PM start. The rally finish is at 10 p.m. \n\n\n\nThe road rally allows participants to test their GPS skills\, answer questions\, solve riddles\, and capture pictures/items along the designated route. The road rally is composed of a series of encrypted messages that need to be solved. Once understood\, each message will direct teams to drive to a specific location where they must find the answer to a question. Each correct answer is worth points. The most points win. \n\n\n\nDrinks and snacks will be provided at the hall from 9-11:30 p.m. Alcohol is BYOB at the after-party. Prizes will be awarded to first\, second and third-place finishers. \n\n\n\nThe maximum is four people per vehicle. Must be 21 to attend. \n\n\n\nAll proceeds will go to the Metamora community through partner charities Leader Dogs for the Blind and Bear Lake Camp. \n\n\n\nEarly registration is $30 per person.
