SUMMARY:PA: Cruising for Clues\, A Different Kind of Road Trip
DESCRIPTION:From the riverreporter.com\n\n\n\nBETHANY\, PA — Have some fun on Saturday\, May 15 by taking a scenic drive in the country. \n\n\n\nUse your deductive powers to figure out a series of clues to 10 sites around central Wayne County. Follow a 60-mile circular route on scenic highways and backroads through rural countryside\, from the village of Bethany to the Delaware River\, and back again. And it’s all to benefit Bethany Public Library. \n\n\n\nThis fundraising event\, called Cruising for Clues\, is a cross between a scavenger hunt and a different kind of road rally. The cost to enter is $30 per car. \n\n\n\nRSVPs are requested no later than the day before the event\, Friday\, May 14. To RSVP\, call the Library at 570-253-4349. \n\n\n\nOn Saturday\, May 15\, registration and payment open at 8:15 and close at 9:30 a.m. at the Library. The first two cars depart at 8:30 a.m.\, and after that\, cars leave in 10-minute intervals until all participants are on the road. Snacks and water will be provided. The day ends with a drawing to win a handful of prizes; attendance not required to win. \n\n\n\nThis is a COVID-safe event; participants will spend 95% of their time in their cars. SUMMARY:IL: Return of the G.O.A.T.S. Tour
DESCRIPTION:A number of years ago the Chicago Region SCCA held a tour-type rally to LaCrosse Wisconsin. Several of the entrants had their private radios with them to communicate with each other as we traversed the tour route. Conversation over the radios was minimal\, then suddenly the silence was broken! A voice came across the airways shouting “goats\, goats\, goats\,” and then it went silent. What we all found out later that day is that a small heard of goats were on the road just past a curve. Apparently the noise from the car and its driver yelling as loud as possible on the radio scared the goats away because no one else observed this obstacle.   \n\n\n\nNow\, we can’t promise you that same level of excitement\, nor do we want you to experience it for yourself on this Chicago Region SCCA Tour.  However\, if you join us this coming Saturday\, May 15\, 2021 the Chicago Region and its G.O.A.T.S. (Get Out and Tour Series) backroads tour series will provide you with an enjoyable day of driving\, using great Wisconsin backroads providing scenic views and plenty of turns and elevation changes. The drive will take approximately 2.5 hours to complete ending in Paoli\, Wisconsin\, where there will be options for lunch and some socializing. Join us\, won’t you\, for The Return of the G.O.A.T.S. \n\n\n\nWhen: Saturday May 15\, 2021 \n\n\n\nRegistration:  Pre-event registration is required. Registration on opens April 12\, 2021. click on the link to MotorsportReg\, the entry deadline is Saturday May 8\, 2021.  \n\n\n\nEntry Fee per car: $14.00 SCCA Members\, $30.00 Non-members (Weekend membership for all non-member drivers is required (fee is included in entry). Any navigator / passenger who is not an SCCA member must complete the Trial Membership form (no additional fees assessed).   \n\n\n\nStarting point: Blain’s Farm & Fleet\, at the northeast corner of the parking lot near the McDonalds. Check-in at the event will open at 9:00 am\, with the first car off promptly at 10:00 am.  Please remain in your vehicle with a mask on when you arrive\, the registrars will come to you.
