Cascade Sports Car Club’s Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to everyone – club members and non-members, all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country. Play the game that takes you places. The Cascade Geargrinders Saturday Road Rally Series kicks into gear on March 18. The March rally is the first of six in the Series. Teams who run three or more of the six rallies are eligible for Series Awards. There will be a Zoom Rally School 7 PM Friday evening. The March 18 rally starts in northwest Portland and ends in Scappoose. The route is about 90 miles and takes about 3 1/2 hours to complete. Expect roads less traveled, with some twisty bits.
Entry fee:
$20 per car for CSCC members (either driver or navigator is a Cascade member)
$30 per car for non-members
Members save more with a Series Pass or Season Ticket
Schedule: March 18
First car out: 10:01 am
First car arrives at the finish (approx.): 1:30 pm
Results emailed: after all cars finish
Zoom rally debrief: 7 pm
Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, a licensed and insured driver, a navigator, and a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app.
