All those who participated in the Buccaneer Region of the SCCA Battery Garland Road Rally on Saturday, July 20th had great times. The rally started in SE Savannah, and we toured rarely traveled roads along the rivers. We went to the beach for a quick tour and then headed to the finish location for some low-country boil!
Congrats to all the class winners, and most certainly to Michael and Solana for nailing the first timed checkpoint (the first-ever 0-scored checkpoint!!) and finishing P1 overall!
From entrant Greg Hunt: “Shout out to Bentley J Cheshire for putting on a great event. This was my first time doing a road rally. Shellie was a great driver and dealt with my ‘mid’ navigation like a champion.
If you’ve never tried it, give it a go. It’s certainly an interesting form of motorsport that is simultaneously an awesome cruise and intense competition!”
