Just finished up with the final measurement for Oktoberally National Course Rally, September 17th, sanctioned by the SCCA Milwaukee Region. For those of you who like ‘loops,’ there are lots. While I’ve tried to avoid unpaved roads, sometimes things are inevitable. So, I ended up with less than 10 miles of smooth unpaved roads. While a few legs have more than one trap, most legs have only one. I estimate the level of difficulty as about 4. For those of you that know me, draw your conclusions.
I also had a chance to do a preliminary check of the Badger Coulees National Tour, which runs Sunday, September 18th. The roads Rallymaster Fred Rosevear chose are absolutely fantastic. All paved roads, hills and twists, and no traffic whatsoever. But then, this is rural (I mean really, truly rural) Western Wisconsin. What else would you expect?
Both rallies start in Richland Center, Wisconsin. Why Richland Center? I originally planned to begin in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, but it seemed risky with just one motel and two decent restaurants. Richland Center offered a significant upgrade. There are three motels, and it’s less than an hour’s drive from Madison. Book your hotel room today!
